I have had the privilege of serving Christ at Ridgedale since 2007. Prior to serving here, I graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 2000 with an Education degree before sensing that God was calling me to some type of vocational ministry. I attended and graduated from the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and shortly after that began an itinerant speaking ministry. I met my wife Hope in 2006 and we have three kids-Shepherd (6), Charlie (3), and Noli (1).
I became a Christian at the age of 14. I grew as a believer and would eventually begin to struggle with whether or not God had a desire for me to work in church ministry. While in college, I started working with my church’s student ministry and since that time have always loved ministering to teenagers. At this time, I began working with student camps around the country at different events – a ministry I continue to this day. My initial relationship with Ridgedale began when I spoke at an event in 2005. The student pastor would eventually ask me to partner with him and speak to the students each Wednesday while I traveled on the weekends. In 2011, I began preaching regularly in our Encounter Worship gathering-a smaller, more casual venue on the campus of our church.
I am originally from Chattanooga. I cheer for the University of Tennessee, the Dallas Mavericks, and whoever Peyton Manning plays for on Sundays. I love to read both fiction and non-fiction, binge watch on NetFlix, and listen to anything with a mandolin.
