RBC kids 3rd through 5th grade made the short trip to Lee University last week for CentriKid Camp.  The Children learned how to seek God through His Word, through Prayer, and through Community.  The central verse for the week… “You will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:13

The week is filled with worship, bible study, recreation, and church group time.  It is non-stop from daylight until dark each day. Every event has a Bible Study with it, designed to reinforce the message for the week.  College students from around the country are the camp leaders.  Approximately 300 kids from Tennessee, Georgia, and other states filled the Lee University Campus.

One of the favorite activities of the week is OMC, or Organized Mass Chaos.  Kids are welcomed to the event via a tunnel of adult leaders armed pool noodles, shaving cream and silly string. Once they run through the goopy gauntlet,  each kid is given a card with a task to complete.  For example, they must ask an adult to sing a song with them while standing on one foot or smear toothpaste on their face. When the task is completed, they may ask for another card. The kids are divided into teams by school grade.  The team with the most completed cards at the end of the game wins. Many of the activities include water balloons, shaving cream, toothpaste, toilet paper and other sticky, gooey supplies. Needless to say, kids and adults are a mess by the end of the event, but the kids seem to love it. And yes even this event has a Bible Study time connected to it.
