Mission Updates – Calvary Church, Lakewood CO

Dear Friends and Partners,

Greetings from snowy-Denver! The opportunity to write this update to you is an evidence of God’s grace. Your prayers and support for us are critical to the health and hopes of Calvary Lakewood.

This past Sunday marked six months since a group of 11 families began gathering regularly for worship with the goal of planting Calvary Church in the central Lakewood area of Denver, Colorado. By God’s grace and for His glory we have seen this number continue to grow. In those six months we have been blessed by the generous support of partners like you. This summer and fall we had mission teams help us with block parties, community projects, and servant evangelism. By God’s grace we have also been growing in different areas of ministry within our church. Worship Team

Just this Sunday, we were blessed as several on our team used their musical gifts to lead us in worshiping the coming of our Savior-King.

These past six months have also come with the challenges of ministry to a broken world. At times ministry for us has involved caring for those who are jobless, homeless, or on parole. In October we held a Fall Festival for Stein Elementary School located next door to the building where we gather on Sunday.

92% of the students at Stein receive free or reduced lunch. We also delivered food baskets to families of this school at Thanksgiving. I pray our ministry to this community is a testimony to our Lord Jesus who entered into the brokenness of our world so that we might be redeemed and by faith in Him be adopted as His Sons and Daughters. (Gal 4:4-5)

We are excited to share that in less than 50 days we will officially launch Calvary Lakewood. As a NEW church, we would love for you join us on Sunday, January 31st as we celebrate and worship Jesus Christ! 10:00am @ The Link Rec Center in Lakewood, CO.

Please be praying for Calvary as we enter the new-year! I cannot remember a year I have been more excited about! I pray you will also consider making a year-end tax-deductible gift to help support the ministry of Calvary Church in Lakewood. You can give online by clicking HERE and selecting “Calvary Lakewood”. Or you can do the same by mail. Give to Calvary Church with the memo Calvary Lakewood | 4881 S. Acoma Street. Englewood, CO 80110.
