Chuck Nichols

Chief Operating Officer

Chuck joined the staff at Ridgedale in January of 2019. He has been a dedicated member of the fire and rescue services since 1976. His career began thirty-nine years ago as a volunteer in the Chattanooga, Tennessee area. In 1980, he joined the City of Chattanooga Fire Department where he progressed through the ranks as a Firefighter, Emergency Medical Technician, Paramedic, Instructor, Lieutenant, Captain, and Assistant Fire Chief. During more than twenty-seven years of service with the Chattanooga Fire Department, Chief Nichols served in leadership positions in the department’s Operations Division, Training Division, Emergency Medical Services Division, Administration, Hazardous Materials Incident Response Team, and Tactical Services Division. Chief Nichols has served as a fire, rescue, hazardous materials, and special operations instructor and has attended the National Fire Academy and the Emergency Management Institute. He is a member of several professional organizations such as the National Fire Protection Association, and the Georgia Association of Fire Chiefs. Chief Nichols has served as the President of the Tri-State Mutual Aid Association and the Northwest Georgia Fire Chiefs Association.

Chuck Nichols was appointed as Fire Chief in Catoosa County, Georgia in 2008 and retied in Jan of 2017. He brings his knowledge and years of experience in fire department administration and operations to the position. He is a huge asset to the team at Ridgedale!
