1 Peter 5:1-5 – Shepherds and Sheep: Serving and Submitting

Main Idea: Because Jesus is our Chief Shepherd, we should all willingly and humbly serve each other in love.

1. Because Jesus was Peter’s Chief Shepherd, Peter could relate to and exhort other elders (v. 1).
2. Because Jesus is their Chief Shepherd, elders should willingly and humbly serve the church (v. 2-3).
3. Because Jesus is our Chief Shepherd, the church should willingly and humbly submit to the elders (v. 5a).
4. Because Jesus is our Chief Shepherd, we should all willingly serve one another in humility (v. 5b).
5. Because Jesus is coming again, we should persevere until we receive the unfading crown of glory at His return (v. 4).
